The inclusive Ardey Hotel Witten was nominated by former apprentice Maik Thon as "Training Company of the Year" at the IHK Mittleres Ruhrgebiet (Chamber of Industry and Commerce for the Middle Ruhr Area) and was then nominated as one of five companies for the "Stars of Training" award after a jury survey. On 9 October, a ceremony was held in the Saalbau in Witten with 400 apprentices and other guests. "We are very happy that our way of guiding young people through their training is so highly regarded by our own trainees," said hotel director Sylvia Urban, who was delighted about being nominated among the TOP5. "The principle of 'focusing on people', the combination of appreciation and commitment, as well as the competence-oriented deployment of employees in an inclusive company, turns out to be the right way to go," Urban continued.
